Tariq Ismail Sagar is a renowned Pakistani writer, novelist, and playwright, widely acclaimed for his remarkable contributions to Urdu literature. Born on August 1, 1956, in Lahore, Pakistan, Sagar has left an indelible mark on the literary landscape of Pakistan and beyond.

Life and Career:

Tariq Ismail Sagar's fascination with literature began at a young age, inspired by his father, Ismail Sagar, a poet and writer himself. Sagar's early education took place in Lahore, and he later pursued a master's degree in Urdu literature from the University of Punjab. His writing career spans over four decades, during which he has

authorednumerous novels, short stories, plays, and essays.  

Awards and Recognition:

Tariq Ismail Sagar's literary excellence has earned him numerous awards and accolades, including:

1. Pride of Performance (2011): A prestigious award conferred by the Government of Pakistan for his outstanding contributions to literature.

2. Adamjee Literary Award (2005): Recognizing his novel "Khali Hai Zameen" as the best Urdu novel of the year.

3. Urdu Academy Award (1998): Honoring his short story collection "Sagar Ka Afsana" as the best Urdu short story collection.

A Text from preface of my thesis about famous novelist,

" Tariq Ismail Sager"

Writing an essay is a laborious and intoxicating job, then for a person like me who has occasionally picked up a pen, it is like bringing a gambling lion. Yes, but in his own way he has tried to bring out all the hidden and hidden elements in his selected novels. Now in this, how much better I have been. In this I have also had some success or not. So only those who study it and those who are involved in research can tell it. However, in my own way, I have tried my best to make sure that the truths, sorrows, joys, sorrows, Let me try to bring to the fore the basic literary and artistic nuances that can be found in any case. The things that can cover the technical and intellectual aspects of the author. I did not ignore any mistakes or distortions.

مقالہ لکھنا ایک محنت طلب او ر عرق ریزی کا کام ہے، پھر مجھ جیسے شخص جس نے کبھی کبھار قلم اٹھایا ہو ، اس کے لیے تو گویا  جوئے شیر لانے کے مترادف ہے۔میں یہ تو نہیں کہتا کہ میں کوئی جوئے شیر کھود کے لایا ہوں ، لیکن اپنے طور پر ان کے منتخب ناولوں میں چھائے ہوئے اور چھپے ہوئے تمام عناصر کو سامنے لانے کی کوشش کی ہے۔اب اس میں،میں کس حد تک بہتر رہا ہوں۔اس میں مجھے کوئی کامیابی بھی ملی ہے یا نہیں۔یہ تو اس کا مطالعہ کرنے والے اور تحقیق سے وابستہ لوگ ہی بتا سکتے ہیں۔بہرحال اپنے طور پر میں نے ہر ممکن یہی کوشش کی ہے کہ تحقیق کے ایک طالب علم کی نظر سے ان کی تحریروں میں موجود سچائیوں،دکھوں،خوشیوں،غموں،مکاریوں اورکسی بھی صورت میں پائی جانے والی بنیادی ادبی باتوں اور فنی باریکیوں کوسامنے لانے کی کوشش کروں۔ان باتوں کو جن سے صاحب تحریر کی فنی او ر فکری جہتوں کا احاطہ ہوسکے۔اس کے ساتھ ساتھ مجھ پر جہاں کہیں ان کی ناول نگاری میں کوئی خامی یا کجی آشکا رہوئی اس سے بھی میں نے پہلو تہی نہیں کیا۔
