Ishtiaq Ahmed is one of the leading Urdu detective novelists. He was born in Panipat, India on the 9th of this month. He came to Pakistan with the grief of migration. He was also the editor of "Children's Islam" magazine. He used to write a regular column in "Zarb-e-Momin" newspaper. He also wrote stories for children in the monthly Zauq-e-Washoq and Saathi. He died of a heart attack on November 9.

As a novelist, he has written about 700 books, most of which are detective novels. He introduced detective literature to Inspector Jamshed, Inspector Kamran Mirza, Mahmood, Farooq, Farzana, Aftab, Farhat, Asif and Shoki Brothers. He did this detective novel for children, but his novels became equally popular among young and old alike. The special thing about his novels is that when he started, he used to recite Hadith Mubarak regularly. Before reading the novel, they would make you realize that you should read the novel when you are free.
